Every year more information is discovered about the disorder that affects 1 in 100 people in the world, Coeliac disease. I have written about coeliac disease here.
This year from the 13 March to the 20 March is Coeliac awareness week. It’s a week to raise awareness, support and give advice about Coeliac disease. For more information visit Coeliac Australia website.
I have personally been Gluten free for well over 10 years and with a passion for food I have a vision to break the stigma of gluten free food as being “bland, tasteless and deprived”
So here are my top 3 Gluten free (but you wouldn’t know it) sweet treat Recipes from the past year, to commemorate a week raising awareness for Coeliacs everywhere.
The perfect cheesecake should be smooth like velevet, light and simple yet full of flavour. This Baked Passionfruit cheesecake is just that. Set on an Almond biscuit base and topped with a passionfruit syrup this is a cake for all occasions.
Chocolate Mousse with a Creme de Cacao Blanc
This is not a dessert for the faint hearted. The rich and ultimately decadent dark chocolate mousse is paired with a light white chocolate cream.
Pear and Cinnamon Frangipane Tart (with a rough puff pastry recipe)
A great way to use up any left over over ripe fruit and a great afternoon treat. Served warm with a big dollop of vanilla ice cream it becomes a fantastic dessert option.
